PORTER BUS GIRL
The “BUS GIRL” bag series is inspired by the “bus girl”—a profession in which women played an active role during the Showa era.
Around 1935, when Yoshida Kaban was founded, women working as “bus girls” were active throughout Japan.
This profession emerged in the early Showa era, roughly 100 years ago. At a time when it was still rare for women to work alongside men, it became a symbol of women’s entry into the workforce and a symbol of a new era that many people aspired to.
With the “PORTER BUS GIRL” collection, we fuse the “Bus Girl” theme with the functional convenience unique to professional bags. Celebrating its 90th anniversary, Yoshida Kaban presents this bag as a “new classic”—one that feels beautiful in today’s era—guided by the spirit of “One Stitch, One Soul” that has defined the company since its founding.
