Based on the classic Kiyosumi mug, our Holiday Mug features a limited-edition design released every year during the holiday season.
This year, we’re introducing “Winter Matsu Green,” a rich, deep shade inspired by Oribe ware—a type of Mino ware from Gifu Prefecture. The back of the mug is stamped with “Holiday 2026” to signify that it is a limited-edition item for the 2026 holiday season.
Each mug is handcrafted using a glazing technique called “dobonuri,” in which the piece is immersed in the glaze all at once and then lifted out, coating the entire surface with glaze.
Also known as “dobokake,” this technique is characterized by the rustic and robust texture it creates.
Due to the translucent hues (shades of light and dark) inherent to the glaze, each mug has a unique appearance—no two are exactly alike—which is the charm of handmade craftsmanship.
