Based on KINTO’s FARO series, we’ve customized the material to give it a more artisanal feel. The base clay is a sandstone mixture made by blending Amakusa pottery stone—mined on the Amakusa Peninsula—with crushed sand and rock. It features a rustic, organic texture and a matte finish reminiscent of pottery, while being thoroughly fired at the high temperatures characteristic of Hasami-yaki.
Components such as iron found in the sandstone clay interact with the glaze, creating a rich and distinctive appearance.
