The new watch is based on the DW-5600, which was introduced in the 1990s, and was inspired by the SEA DYE MARKER (sea surface coloring agent) used by the U.S. military, based on the yellow color that was used in the early years of the DW-5600 series. The top and bottom of the face, the belt, and the back of the case are engraved with the N.H. TPES mil-spec markings, and the watch comes with original packaging reminiscent of U.S. military government-issued items.
