Filmarks Revival will commemorate the 30th anniversary of its theatrical release with a two-week limited revival screening of the landmark youth film “Trainspotting,” directed by Danny Boyle and starring Ewan McGregor, depicting 1990s British youth culture. This T-shirt features a design revived from the original release period.
Behind the Scenes®, an independent culture platform with the concept of “transmitting past and present culture to the next generation,” has officially collaborated with Trainspotting to reconstruct and reissue the T-shirt originally sold as official merchandise.
This item was an iconic piece worn by a wide range of people during the film's 1996 release, from young people deeply influenced by the film's world to creators who would later become leaders in the apparel industry. The original T-shirt now commands high prices on the secondary market, making official merchandise releases extremely rare.
For this reissue, we meticulously recreated not only the design but also the texture of the body and print to faithfully capture the original release's aesthetic.
The familiar orange box logo symbolizing the film is placed on the front of the grey body, while the back print features reverse lettering.
We selected the optimal heavyweight material by modern standards while recreating the original feel. Every detail, from the fabric to the printing technique, was meticulously crafted.
