Focusing on the issue of marine litter washing up on the shores of Ishigaki Island in Okinawa Prefecture, we have adopted ‘UpDRIFT®’, a low-environmental-impact yarn that incorporates washed-up PET bottles as a raw material.
Although made from 100% polyester, it has a cotton-like feel against the skin and is both absorbent and quick-drying, making it ideal for waterside activities.
It offers UV protection (blocking rate of 90 per cent or more) and, thanks to ceramic particles blended into the polyester yarn, provides heat-shielding properties, supporting activities in extreme heat.
