PORTER x Aurel Schmidt
Aurel Schmidt constructs a unique artistic universe using motifs drawn from the ‘trash’ left behind in everyday life—such as cigarette butts, sweet wrappers, matches and empty cans—to express a ‘memento mori’ that evokes the fragility of the modern world and the transience of life.
Whilst his works are composed of eclectic and decadent motifs, they are imbued with a sense of humour and approachability, evoking the energy and bustle of New York’s street corners.
For this collaboration, Aurel Schmidt has created a special illustration that blends elements of PORTER with his memories of visiting Japan. Treating pure white bonded nylon as a canvas, he has expressed his artistic vision through a bold all-over print. This special collection comprises four styles, each featuring a charm with an amulet motif.
