Persimmon has been used since ancient times as a dye, medicine, and building material. The tannin contained in persimmon tannin, which is fermented by pressing the green persimmon before maturity, has waterproofing and preservative effects on textiles and wood. Recent studies have shown that candy and fiber containing persimmon tannin inactivated a new type of corona virus, indicating its antiviral effect.

"Kakishibu dyeing" is a technique in which a pure white bag is soaked one by one in persimmon juice and dried in the sun by skilled craftsmen. The persimmon tannin is dyed using an old-fashioned manufacturing method, which gives the fabric firmness and durability.

"Kure-dyeing" is a dyeing technique that turns the base dyed with persimmon tannin black by mordanting it with iron-containing water. In the days when there were no industrial products, this method was used to make the fabric resistant to fading and increase the strength of the fabric.

Kakishibu dyeing, which is born from nature and returns to nature as it is, is a new form of recycling that is necessary in this day and age. This bag is the result of seeking out the superior ancient techniques and discovering new values from them.
