Soft and strong Mikawa cotton is used, and the fabric is stitched with different threads for reinforcement and decoration, which is called “Sashiko”, and the cotton fabric woven in imitation of this is called “Sashiko weave”. The thick and sturdy fabric is characterized by its unevenness and excellent moisture retention and absorption properties.
