[ Saki-ori Fabric ]
In days gone by, fabric was a highly prized commodity.
It is said that people at that time would reuse discarded fabric—such as clothes that could no longer be worn or futons that were no longer usable—by first tearing them into small pieces and then reweaving them into new fabric using a technique known as ‘saki-ori’.
This ‘AKIRA KUROSAWA SCRIPT COVER’ is made from fabric upcycled from clothes actually worn by Akira Kurosawa during his lifetime, using the ‘saki-ori’ technique.
This product was created in the hope that even a little of the energy Akira Kurosawa displayed on set might reach those working on film sets today.

[ Porter Classic and Kurosawa ]
The connection between Porter Classic and Kurosawa began when Kichizo Yoshida—the grandfather of Porter Classic’s representative, Reo Yoshida, and the father of the company’s chairman, Katsuyuki Yoshida—crafted the leather bag that appeared as a key prop in *Heaven and Hell*.
Although ‘saki-ori’ fabric is extremely difficult to work with, Porter Classic’s high level of technical expertise has enabled them to craft it into a script cover.

As the supply of Kurosawa’s split-weave fabric is limited, this is a limited edition of just 65 pieces worldwide.
