A ring watch faithfully scaled down from the ‘Camper’ model—a tortoiseshell-patterned design commissioned for the Autumn/Winter 2020 season. Its charm lies in the classic tortoiseshell pattern, reminiscent of vintage plastics, Lucite and Bakelite. Exuding the atmosphere of a vintage accessory, it lends a delicate and elegant touch to the wrist. Based on a ring-style watch actually produced by TIMEX in the 1990s, this piece fuses the military-inspired aesthetic of the brand’s iconic ‘Camper’ model. Offered in a new way of wearing that differs from a traditional wristwatch, it serves as a stylish accent to any outfit. It is an item that combines the practicality of a military watch with the playful charm of jewellery.
After much trial and error, we have succeeded in recreating the tortoiseshell pattern on the expansion strap—a design that had previously proved difficult to reproduce. The accompanying case features the American-made multi-container <TIGHT VAC>, which offers excellent airtightness, water resistance and odour prevention. We have paid meticulous attention to the adjustment of the transparent base to ensure that the watch appears to float in the correct position within the case.
