MATERIAL : COATING LACQUER / GROUND WOOD FLOUR COMPOSITE

A collaboration with “Shikirindo,” a long-established Echizen lacquerware shop founded in 1793 in Echizen, Japan’s oldest lacquerware-producing region. Both companies’ logos are featured on an Echizen hard-lacquer bowl. This “Ichijō” bowl (4 sun) is crafted using the “Maki-nuri” technique, known for its luxurious finish (a method in which lacquer is filtered repeatedly to carefully remove impurities, and the coating is applied in a single, seamless stroke to eliminate brush marks). While retaining a traditional form, it offers superior heat resistance and durability compared to conventional lacquerware, making it suitable for serving white rice, simmered dishes, and salad-style dishes. Although made with natural lacquer, it is dishwasher-safe.
