50th Anniversary Special Edition Item
A “Festival Maneki-neko” from Chugai Touen, a ceramics manufacturer based in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. Its slender, upright posture is beautiful, and in addition to its rounded back when viewed from the side, its modestly raised paw and cute tail are also charming features. The fusion of Seto clay and the “Seto Novelty” plaster mold technique—introduced in the late Meiji period—enables complex, three-dimensional shapes.
It is generally said that a maneki-neko’s right paw invites “good luck and money,” while its left paw invites “many people.” This item makes a delightful gift for someone special.
